Why did we change the names from courses to series?

About a month ago, we made a fundamental decision in how we present our courses for practicing conversation in German. After much deliberation, we changed the name from a course to a series.

In practice, it is the same:

course = series

The change was made because the word course implies structured content learned systematically, while we naturally do not have such structured content. With us, the emphasis is on practicing conversation, and conversation by nature is a dynamic thing.

And so, we prefer that the participants come to the series if the general approach is that they are going to apply what they know, practice speaking German and try a real conversation. The net is full of grammatical material for learning German, there is no shortage of learning sources, and those who want to delve deeper and learn can always do it themselves.

Our series is designed to fill a lack: practicing conversation in German. The Shalva method allows people who want to practice conversation in German together to meet and practice it with a German-speaking guide.
